Managing invoices

Once an invoice exists, you can track its status, update it, or duplicate it for a repeat customer.

Invoice statuses

Every invoice has a status. It starts as a draft and moves forward as you work.

  • Draft: Still being edited. Clients never see draft invoices.
  • Sent: You've sent it to the client. Now you're waiting on payment.
  • Paid: Client has paid. A paid-on date is stored automatically.
  • Overdue: Due date has passed but the invoice isn't paid yet.
  • Cancelled: Voided or no longer applicable.

Actions

Duplicate

Perfect for recurring clients. Creates a new draft with the same line items, payment methods, and client details — just change the invoice number and dates.

Edit

Anything can be edited: client, line items, totals, status. Edits don't change the invoice number, so version history stays clean.

Delete

Removes an invoice permanently. Use Cancelled instead if you want to keep the record.

Working with saved clients

The Clients tab is your address book.

  • Add new clients any time, not just when invoicing.
  • Picking a saved client auto-fills their details on new invoices.
  • Each saved client shows how many invoices they've received.

Search and filter

The Invoices tab has a search box (invoice number or client name) and a status filter. They work together.

Plan limits

Free accounts can create up to 3 invoices per calendar month. The counter resets on the 1st. Upgrading to Pro removes the limit entirely — existing invoices are never affected.
