Creating invoices

Here's how to put together a clean, professional invoice in under a minute.

Your business details

The first block of an invoice is who's billing. Add your business info once in Settings and it'll be used as the default for every new invoice.

  • Business name — your company or personal name.
  • Email — where the client can reach you.
  • Phone — optional, for clients who prefer to call.
  • Address — your billing address.
  • Tax ID / VAT number — required in some jurisdictions.

You can override these per-invoice if you bill under multiple identities.

Who you're billing

Every invoice needs a client. You can:

  • Pick a saved client from the dropdown — reuses their details instantly.
  • Type them in directly if it's a one-off — they won't be saved.

Line items

Line items describe what you're charging for.

  • Description — what the work or product is.
  • Quantity — units, hours, or whatever makes sense.
  • Unit price — price per unit in the invoice's currency.

Discounts, tax, and totals

Totals are calculated live as you edit. The math is straightforward:

  • subtotal = sum(quantity × unit price)
  • tax = (subtotal − discount) × tax rate
  • total = subtotal − discount + tax

Payment methods

Tell your client how to pay you. You can add multiple methods on the same invoice.

  • Bank transfer — account number, routing, SWIFT, IBAN.
  • Mobile Money — MTN, Orange, or other providers.
  • PayPal — your receiving email.
  • Crypto — coin + wallet address.
  • Other — free-form instructions.

Currency

Each invoice can be in a different currency. USD, EUR, GBP, XAF, NGN, KES, GHS, ZAR, and CAD are built-in.

Issue date and due date

The issue date defaults to today. The due date defaults to 30 days out — change it to match your payment terms.
